Aakhirah or Dunya

We were returning from the sports of our kids with my brother, his children and their friends were seated in an over crowded car. As soon as my brother took a right turn one kid started telling “Uncle that is a dead end” My brother asked, “and how do you know?”

Pat came the reply from the bubbly youngster, “in GTA st andreas game also its same” I was wondering if GTA st andreas game had streets of Mumbai when lo! His words were true enough my brother had to reverse the car. My brother informed it’s an adult car racing game.

A few days ago my friend told me that she took some ladoos to her nephews and nieces. The youngest of them who was 2 year old seeing the ladoos said, “WOW!!Aunty has bought BHim’s ladus” Subhnallah I thought Bhim must be one of the characters of Hindu mythology, she continued “I asked who is Bhim?” so immediately she mentioned the name of some cartoon which she must have watched on television.

AllahuAkbar KAbeera!! How children link their everyday lives with their games and things they watch in television channels. How easily moms give them to handle these things. It plays havoc in their minds.

Young children are just like clay or molten iron it depends how we mould them.
We must make the children busy in activities after they return from school so that they do not get time to spend with these Electronic robots.

They must be made to do swimming, cycling, or play sports like cricket tennis etc rather than watching the idiot box. Surprisingly a newspaper had conducted a no –Tv day in which many filmstars and famous cricketers, models and actors had stated we keep ourselves and our kids away from unrealistic things

Physical exercises make them tired so that they don’t have the pent up energy bursting in them which could either make them couch potatoes or result in diseases of obesity.

Most games have music which is haram. I saw my nephew playing the road rash game but his legs were moving so fast and the actions on the keyboard were so violent it seemed if he really met the driver he would beat him to death.

Our children are deprived of reading good Islamic or productive stuff. Most story books have loads of magic in them. A friend told me that once as were stuck on the highway and were very tense as we were quite from the city to get a tow truck when his youngster blurted Batman will release us, he has to be near by.

“Dajjal will say to his followers, "If I kill this person and then revive him, you people will still doubt me?" They will reply, "No." He will then kill this person, (according to another narration he will split this person in two) and thereafter revive him. This person will say, "I am totally convinced more than ever before that you definitely are Dajjal." Dajjal will attempt to kill this person again but his efforts will now be in vain. (According to a hadith, after this incident, Dajjal will not be able to harm anyone.)” Sahih Muslim

Means magic will be a tool of dajjal so these stories are making them so common that the future generation will think this as part of life.

A teacher of an Islamic school reported that a child with good Islamic upbringing can be easily distinguished. Once when the kids were supposed bead the thread and the one with the most beads come to me and soon a 3 year old nursery kid triumphantly ran to her teacher AllahuAkbar! AllahuAkbar! I completed it. The teacher asked why are u saying AllahuAkbar too? So the child replied I couldn’t have done without the help of Allah!

SO we should instill the greatness of Allah in the children rather than attaching them to the material world. Before I end I would like to site an example: A few days ago I had called some kids for Islamic summer camp between 8-13 years of age where I asked them “from where do we get milk” Some of the kids rightly answered Allah, while others said milkman and yet others said from the dairy. All were correct but they didn’t get my question so I asked them “Haven’t u learnt in science from where do we get milk” Yes, then it struck them and they said from cows, buffaloes, and goat

Then I further asked them “When a goat, cow or buffalo is slaughtered what we find in it ?” and they all replied meat and blood Then I quoted from the Quran. From the contents of their bellies, from between the dung and blood, We give you pure milk to drink, easy for drinkers to swallow. (Qur'an, 16:66) ..

All the children were surprised to know and I further explained them that You do know which particular animals milk u drink but Allah had already known and He sent that milk from the stables to the dairy and then from the milk man to your home.

Every day when we eat the different creations of Allah we can have a lot to discuss with the kids about the fragrance, the tastes, the colors and varieties lest we spend time with our kids.

May Allah bestow us with the wisdom to instill His Greatness in the kids and make them attatched to Him and away from fitna of dunya Aameen
