A KIDS SACRIFICE

A SHORT STORY ON A KIDS SACRIFICE

Farhan ,Suhail and Bashir lived in a farm house at the end of the village. They were young kids aged 12 ,10 ,and six repectively They had reared many goats along with their father for Eid ul Adha. They would take them to green pastures in the hillocks every day

As Eid Ul Adha neared their father was making a deal with a animal vendor.Bashir was the youngest it was his first year at the barn.He was just six years old . HE loved the goats very much. He would sometimes pester his parents to allow him to let him sleep with them

He loved the black ram very much, Bashir would play with him and chase all about.
When the vendor called out for it he grabbed him and the ram too hugged him close to him. “Abbu this ones mine, this wont go to the vendor”, but the stern look on his fathers face made him give up. He left the ram from his arms and the ram would not move away from him. His dad got up and pulled his ear and it gave a loud bleat but would nt budge.

Then his dad pushed it but the ram started charging him with his horns. Bashir sensed victory , But the vendor got up and stopped the charging ram and shoved him in the truck .Bashir was in tears “Dad only one ram I asked” You are giving away the whole lot.

“Bashir these animals don’t belong to us we are paid for rearing them so how can I give you what is not ours” Bashir was in tears he ran inside the house weeping His mother could not bear to see his tears The vendor was still at the barn gate Farhan and Suhail too felt hurt to see their brother crying

They both ran and pleaded to their father to pay the vendor for the ram so that Bashir would be happy. The vendor quoted 3000 rupees for the ram. Rashid their dad was in no mood but the kids were begging him to bargain. Then suddenly Suhail spoke “take me and give Bashir the ram”

The vendor and their father were moved at Suhails desire to make their brother happy. Finally his father budged and paid off the vendor and bought the ram in 2000 rupees.. The ram ran off to Bashir as if hugging him Bashirs happiness knew no bounds.

As Eid Ul Adha approached because they had a sacrificial animal it was obligatory on them to sacrifice the ram. Rashid called Bshir and told him on the eve of Eid Ul Adha that tomorrow we will sacrifice your ram. Bashir was adamant, “Abba you bought it for me, you should have take another for the sacrifice” “Yeah sure I could have taken another” Rashid knew they couldnt afford another but just to explain Bashir he continued
“We should sacrifice what we love, what is beloved to us” that what Prophet Ibrahim had done He was ready to sacrifice his beloved son and we cannot give an animal for Allahswt’s sake’

Bashir was once again in tears Farhan too bit his lip there was a silent mourning in the house. In the morning the children woke up early for the Eid prayers. There was a very informative sermon, Where the whole story of sacrifice was told by the Khateeb and when he reached to the ayah where Prophet Ismail said “I am ready” Bashir told his father too Abbu” I am ready too to sacrifice my ram”

LOVE FOR ALLAH OR DUNYA

LOVE FOR ALLAH OR DUNYA- A SHORT STORY

“We will sacrifice this old bull that has helped us throughout his life”
“No! No way you can’t do that!”
“What will we do the rest of the year?” Said, the farmer’s wife..

Nisar and Sana lived in the Mayang village of Assam. Nisar and Sana both had little education because in the village it was difficult to cope with farm work and studies, but they had read Quran and were good practicing Muslims .Every year they sacrificed goats or a bull for Eid Ul Adha .They distributed the meat amongst their relatives and also among the poor.

Nisar had a bad crop that year. His earnings were greatly disturbed. He owned a few acres of land which he cultivated with rice. There were good rains and a good crop which he had cut sacked and stored in the storage. There were sudden unseasonal rains from which water seeped into the store and the good harvest was ruined. So this year they didn’t have enough profits to buy a bull or goats.

“Prophet Ibrahim had a sole son which was born at 86 years of age and he was ready to sacrifice him for the sake of Allah so why cant we give this old bull Sana” explained Nisar. “That’s exactly what I mean dear why do u want to give an old bull”. Said Sana

“All our relatives will make fun of us and we will become the talk of the village People will mock me, jeer me ,” continued Nisar. “We wont sacrifice the bull, no way !” argued Sana

Then Sana got up to her room opened her locker and brought her gold bangles and gave them to Nisar and said, “Nisar you didn’t understand what I meant, here take these bangles and sell them and get the animal to be sacrificed. We don’t sacrifice for name We don’t sacrifice for fame But we sacrifice to please Allah swt Where has the Taqwa gone ?

We have to give from what we love ,what we adore We have to crush our desires ,Ibrahim As was ready to give a son whom he adored whom he loved Subhanallah and we give a bull who is almost dead” Sana ended up in tears she saw Nisar’s eyes moist too.

Based on a true life story

A man was crying, someone asked why, he said, "I had a son I thought i would make him read n write and would make him a great man, and gave him the best education and sent him overseas to study.

Then suddenly he became ill and doctors gave up on him. He was counting his last breaths and he said to me "Daddy bring all my certificates" He said looking at me. Abbu These are all my degrees, but you did not teach me the Quran, How shall I face Allah? I stood in front of him and in a few moments he was dead.

So many of us who care about the world so much that we forget the Hereafter. Make a firm Determination that me and my children must obey Allah and follow His commandments so that tomorrow that is hereafter we would be happy and also our children.

STORY -Competition

STORY -Competition

Fareeha came from school tired and fatigued. It was a sunny day. Her throat had gone dry. She dashed in her room and instantly lied down to sleep. But she saw her brother Farid offering the Zuhr prayer. Slowly she got up and dragged herself in the bathroom. Performing ablution made her fresh. She stepped out and changed her uniform and stood on the prayer mat and offered her salah. Then as she peeped in Farid’s room expecting him to be asleep, as he too was awake from suhur she saw him reciting the Quran.

She too picked up the Quran and began reciting. She was engrossed in the penetrating verses as she understood Arabic. Soon she heard the call for asr salah. She didn’t realize how time flew away as she completed Surah Baqarah and stood for asr salah. Sleep evaded her she snooped to know about Farid, but he was not in his room. He must have gone to the masjid, she mused.

Wonder how much Quran he read, she was inquisitive. Then she heard the clatter from the kitchen. “Mamma, whats the menu today?” she rushed in only to find Farid applying butter and chutney to the bread. ‘Why can’t I go ahead of Farid in good deeds I win in studies but we should not compete there’ reflected Fareeha.

She wanted to mock him, but then she remembered when we are fasting our tongue too fasts. “Where’s mom” she finally asked Farid. “She is down with fever, I have just given her medicines from Dr Shaikh, just pray she becomes well soon”. Fareeha bit her lip “Farid what will u cook”. She pried over her mom’s recipe book. ‘I thought of making chaat it’s easy and tasty, you love it isn’t it’.

Fareeha’s eyes were moistened she quickly wiped her eyes and went to her mother’s side and as she touched forehead it was quite warm. She had heard Dr Sheikh telling many times keep cool swabs on the head fever will subside. She poured water and soaked a swab to put on her mothers forehead. Farid caught her hand, let mom sleep a while she hasn’t slept a wink when she wakes up you can do that. Now could you help me” and he dragged her out of the room.

Together they cut the fruits and arranged the chaat. And sat to make dua, when their mother came in the kitchen she was surprised when she saw the iftar table with aroma of the chaat. She sat behind the kids thanking Allah for them and as her tears reached her cheeks the call for magrib bought everyone at the table. ‘I lost the competition to Farid mamma’ said an exhausted Fareeha. ‘No, my child” said mamma picking a date and putting in her mouth. ‘The one whose intentions are to please Allah wins” ‘O Allah I fast for you and eat the Blessings you bestowed on me accepts my fast’

THE GIFT OF TRUTH

The gift of truth
(Inspired on the axe and the three wishes)

All rights reserved @ Allah’s presence

Hasan took a long walk to school which was towards the end of the village. He was the son of a poor cobbler. He had just bought a new fountain pen because the teacher had punished him the other day for writing with a ballpoint pen. He kept looking at it as it shone from his uniform pocket.

The scorching sun had made his throat parched. He had yet to buy a water bottle. His piercing eyes saw the well and immediately he ran towards it to quench his thirst. But as soon as he reached the well out popped the pen and straight in to the bottom of the well. He heard the thud sound too.

He started crying, he still had the mark of the ruler with which his teacher had hit the other day. It had been two months since he needed that fountain pen and in a flash it was gone. Tears wouldn’t stop, he broke in to sobs. When a villager passed by and asked him what was the problem

He immediately related his dilemma. The man offered his expensive scheffers pen. But he refused that it did not belong to him. He feared what would he answer his parents. His father had to stitch many shoes and chappals so he could bring home some money for food. His mother would go to houses to wash utensils and clothes to make ends meet.
They had sweated out themselves to buy me the pen and how did it disappear in the well. He was inconsolable. The man offered that he would buy him another pen from a store. But he was scared what would he answer his parents. He only prayed and wished to get his own pen back.

The man saw something glittering in the sun. He thought for a moment and asked, “what will you give me if I return your pen to you. The boy wiped his tears and thought for a moment and blurted out “I donno anything but I can teach you an ayah of the Quran”

The man picked up the pen and gave it to the boy who was now tearing with joy. Then Hasan said and here is the ayah “Kullu nafsin zaika tul maut Every soul shall taste death”
The villager then offered the scheffers pen as a gift to the boy because of his truethfulness The man could not forget the boys tears and the ayah. He knew everything would end but still didn’t want to lie to his parents.

Haste makes waste

I happened to visit a relative last week. It was time for asr salah. I made my kids stand for salah and stood behind them to pray. I didn't know suddenly the banging of the door made me feel something wrong.

After i finished my salah i inquired what was the problem. My relatives daughter in law had thrown her daughter out and closed the door and she was crying out.

I asked her what did she do wrong to obtain such a harsh punishment. So her reply was that she is not offering salah. A 6 year old can she be punished for not offering salah. I asked do you know the Hadith The Prophet said: Order your children to pray at the age of seven. And beat them [lightly] if they do not do so by the age of ten. And separate them in their bedding.

Hadith - Bukhari 3:734,

At the age of six if you are so harsh with your child instead of praying she will develop a hatred towards salah. Let her pray next to you and form the habit of praying lovingly. For example if she prays with you. You may take her on you lap and kiss her on the forehead and say' i would love to kiss the forehead which bows to Allah'

You must pray to Allah and make dua for your child make these duas to Allah

1. رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِي فَرْدًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْوَارِثِينَRabbi laa tadharnee fardan wa anta khairul waaritheen
“My Lord! Do not leave me childless, though You are the best of inheritors.”
(Surah al-Anbiya 21:89)

2. رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ
Rabbi hab-lee min-ladunka dhurriyatan tayyibah innaka samee’ud-du’aa“My Lord! Grant me from [your mercy] pure offspring, indeed you are listener of invocations.”
(Surah Ale-Imran 3:38)

3. رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِين
Rabbi hab-lee minas-Saliheen “My Lord! Grant me righteous offspring.”
(Surah as-Saffat 37:100)
Sayyiduna Zakariyya عليه السلام made the above invocations and Allah Ta’ala blessed him with Yahya عليه السلام.
Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a’yuniw-waj’alna lil muttaqeena imama
“Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the pious.”
(Surah al-Furqan 25:74)
Sayyiduna Ibraheem عليه السلام made this du’a and Allah Ta’ala granted Prophethood to his two sons.

I am sharing this incident so that we can pass on these duas to other parents who are struggling with their children for prayers and their piety

And always remember we should be a living example for our kids. Our punctuality in salah makes them punctual too. If we ourselves are lazy then how il they rush to pray when the azan is proclaimed!!

This Monday was the hottest day of the month of March .Kids came from school and wanted to have a shower .Their dad too came from work and switched on the ac and was served an iced orange drink to cool himself .I also chose a light cotton maxi for the day to keep myself away from the heat.

While trying to have a short afternoon nap , i saw that we were all tossing and turning and my daughter asked,"Ammi is the ac fast ?""Yeah it is ,it will take some time for cooling as its too hot today".i replied.

Later that day at 5 pm i had been walking on the busy mohd Ali road when i saw a family lying at the corner of a footpath huddled in to each other 3 kids and their mom fast asleep .They were unaware of the noisy street and the scorching heat .They didnt have sheet to spread .They were so tired , so sleepy , my eyes welled up with tears that they were unmindful of all the hawkers shouting their wares and here in the comfort of our homes , soft cushioned beds even under fans and in airconditioned rooms we toss and turn

What contentment do they have ? Allah does not deprive anyone from sleep .I understood that actually we r never so tired ,yet we are ungrateful Ch14 V 7 says "If ye are grateful, I will Add more (favours) unto you; But if ye show ingratitude,Truly my punishment Is terrible indeed."

So many faces on Facebook!!

So many faces on Facebook!!

"music is forbidden in islam"
"Read Quran"
"practise what you preach "

Is this what Islam teaches us??Why cant we be straight forward and simple? Hypocrites are the ones who have many faces. A Momin a believer follows Islam everywhere, He looks like a Muslim, Walks like a Muslim, Behaves like a Muslim. His mission is to spread Islam and forbid the evil. He does not change with the surroundings like a chameleon. He fears Allah swt. allah says in the Quran صِبْغَةَ اللَّهِ ۖ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ اللَّهِ صِبْغَةً ۖ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ عَابِدُونَ

The “sibghah” of Allah, and who can be better than Allah in “sibghah”? And we are His worshippers. (2:138 ) What is Sibgah?Sibgha means coloring or dye, that is not the original state of something. It is the color that has been put on.

The color is referring to our deen, Islam. This refers to the effect of Islam that you can see on a person.

How?1- Through their identity and the way they submit.
2- Through their characteristics: every part of our lives are influenced by this deen.
How much of this color do we have?

Immerse yourself completely in Islam in all ways: externally and internally. Color yourself with Islam.
